To determine the best US city for weather, the study considered a number of factors, including the following criteria:

- Average days of rain per year
- Average days below freezing per year
- Average sunny days per year
In general, cities with moderate to warm temperatures tend to be the best weather in the US. Some cities have similar weather but may differ based on winter days, comfortable temperatures, and plentiful sun. On the basis of these criteria, here are the top 20 major cities that rank among the best in the country.
20. Santa Maria, California
With an average annual temperature of 57.5 degrees Fahrenheit, Santa Maria enjoys lovely weather year-round. The city sees an average of 46 days of rain per year, which is less than most other cities in the US.
